Thank you for deciding to join Fish Legal. Your support is invaluable and ensures our vital work making polluters pay continues.

We provide expert legal advice, taking action to stop pollution and other environmental damage to fisheries and making polluters pay.

Clubs, riparian and fishery owners with their main addresses in England wanting these benefits will need to pay a subscription to Angling Trust, in addition to their Fish Legal subscription. Clubs and syndicates in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales and Salmon Fishery Board can take out a Fish Legal only membership.

Individual supporters and life members provide valuable support for our work but we can only provide legal advice or representation to members that hold fishing rights.

In England, the Angling Trust and Fish Legal have a joint membership for individual supporters. In Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, where the Angling Trust is not the official representative body for angling, individuals have the option to become supporter members of Fish Legal alone. In either case the membership subscription is just £29 a year (optional concession rate of £25 for over-65s). To take out a joint membership see below.

Fish Legal provide specialist legal advice to charterboat owners. If there are environmental issues affecting where you fish you can contact the Fish Legal team for advice on what can be done about it .The Angling Trust is committed to representing the interests of charter boat angling and making sure that the sector can grow in the future. Through our marine regions and national Conservation and Access group we campaign for better fish stocks and continued access to these stocks to ensure charter boats remain at the heart of UK sea angling.

District Salmon Fishery Board

With a dedicated Solicitor in Scotland, Fish Legal membership gives boards access to expert legal advice and guidance on their duties to protect and enhance salmon and sea trout fisheries.

Joint Membership with the Angling Trust

The Angling Trust is the representative body for all anglers in England and Wales. Its members support the campaigns they carry out to protect fish and fishing and their programmes to increase participation. They are recognised by Sport England as the national governing body in England to promote active lifestyles and maintain a regular angling habit and work in partnership with Natural Resources Wales and Visit Wales to deliver the Fishing in Wales programme. Angling Trust membership provides market leading insurance cover to protect your water and fish stocks as well as giving you access to a fantastic range of member benefits and discounts. If your Club or Federation is in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland then the Angling Trust is not your sole representative body. However the Angling Trust still actively campaigns on your behalf on issues that affect angling and you are entitled to the insurance cover and benefits that membership provides.
